Samson von Solingen is a magnificent, larger sized 5 year old black and red German Shepherd. Samson is a sight to see, at about 100 pounds he's a big dog with presence, who is looking for a very experienced home. He definitely comes from a top of the line breeder. His early years were good ones, but he lost his home when his owner moved away. Now he needs strong leadership with a savvy owner who is loving but provides structure and guidance so he doesn't feel the need to protect. He is so smart and intuitive and will be the most devoted companion. He is housebroken, knows his commands, Sit, Down, Stay and Paw, and is great on long car rides. In his previous home it was the dad who walked Samson and would correct him if he alerted to other dogs on leash. Even though he responds to commands, he is very strong and would do best with a man present on walks. He is good with staff at the rescue. Once he knows that you are his person, he wants to make sure to watch over you. Samson's focus is people, but he is quite tolerant of other dogs in playgroups at the rescue. (He's not for cats.) Samson isn't for everyone, but he would lay down his life for you!
